Security Alarm Monitoring Procedures
Smith Monitoring follows nationwide security monitoring standards to ensure the highest-quality service and response time. After a commercial or residential security alarm is received, trained dispatchers will first call the home or business to rule out a false alarm. If there is no answer or an incorrect security pass code is collected, a security alarm dispatcher will immediately contact the local police department. In the case of a residential security system after the police are dispatched an additional call will be made to the home to attempt to contact the homeowner. After the police dispatch is made, additional contacts provided by the property owner will be called by the security alarm dispatcher. During this call, these contacts will be informed of the most recent information regarding the security alarm emergency.
Smith Security Alarm's Panic Button
All Smith security alarm systems come equip with panic buttons for police and medical emergencies. Residential security alarm systems come equip with a standard fire alarm panic button as well. When a panic button is held down for three seconds, the security alarm system will immediately contact a dispatcher. One of our trained dispatchers will immediately contact the correct city department to respond to the emergency, depending on the nature of the security alarm emergency.
